Brief Profile
Dr. P. G. Arul, M.Com., M.Phil., Ph.D., MBA (IB), is presently working as a professor in the Department of International Business, School of Management, Pondicherry University, Puducherry 605014. He has been associated with Pondicherry University since 21st July 2010. Before joining this university, he worked in the Department of Commerce, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi. He has more than 2 decades of teaching and research experience. He has done his Ph.D. under the UGC-JRF scheme at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. He passed the State Level Education Test (SLET) during the year 1997. His area of teaching and research specialization includes international trade, investment, and logistics. Presently he has been guiding Ph.D. research scholars for their research; 8 of them have been awarded with Ph.D., 5 of them are in the process of submission of theses.
He has conducted a number of workshops/capacity-building programs/conferences and seminars for the betterment of the academic community and industry experts.
He has presented more than 100 research papers at national and international conferences. To his credit, he has published 46 research articles in leading national and international journals and written three books titled (1) International Logistic Management, (2) Compensation Management, and (3) Fundamentals of Human Resource Management. He is also edited Three books titled (1) Empowering MSMEs for Global Competitiveness, (2) MSMEs and Make in India, and (3) India’s Foreign Relations and its Impact on Trade Relations with Emerging Economies.
He has successfully completed (1) UGC-Major Research Project Titled” An Evaluation of Private Sectors Participation in Higher Educational Institution to Develop Employability Skill among Students”, (2) ICSSR Sponsorship Major Research Project titled “Developing a Sustainable model to Discharge Corporate Social Responsibility by SMEs, (3) Department of Science and Technology (DST ) Sponsored Major Research Project titled “Technology Transfer and Commercialization of Patent Rights in Universities and Research and Development R&D) Institutions in India and (4) ICSSR – IMPRESS Research Project titled “GST Effects on India’s Foreign Trade – Exporters and Importers Perspectives for effective Policy Formulation”. (5) ICSSR Major Research Project titled “An Evaluation of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) among Small Entrepreneurs on Income Generation and Employment Creation in the Union Territory of Pondicherry.”
He has been awarded 100 lakhs by the Ministry of MSME to start ASPIRE—Livelihood Business Incubator in the Pondicherry University Campus. He has successfully completed his Associateship with Indian Institute of Advance Study (IIAS) Shimla.
He has been offering his services to Colleges/Universities/Research/ and Government bodies at different levels for the betterment of academic and research which leads to the betterment of society.
