Research Area

I received PhD from the University of Göttingen, Germany and pursued postdoctoral fellowships at Bielefeld University, Germany; Harvard Medical School, USA and University of Toronto, Canada. Also, I held JSPS short-term fellowship at Hokkaido University, Japan. Later, I joined Vision Research Foundation, Chennai, as a Senior Scientist and initiated studies on neuronal degeneration in human Retina. Subsequently, I became an assistant professor through UGC-Faculty Recharge Program (UGC-FRP) at Pondicherry University where I have established a research program on ‘Retina in Health and Disease’. The long-term goal is to identify the disease mechanisms and drug targets for human retinal blinding disorders.
