Our research group is actively involved in the field of “Organic Materials” with special attention on the development of new strategies for the synthesis of applied organic materials, value-added feed stock commodities, and solar fuels in an environmentally benign manner.

The diverse chemical processes occurring in nature have always intrigued us. Moreover, the societal demand for environmentally friendly processes has motivated us to focus mainly on the development of bioinspired materials and sustainable chemical technologies like phototcatalysis, electrocatalysis for energy applications and sustainable development. Current research interests also focus on Functional Organic materials for flexible, cost-effective solar cells, Organic luminophores for OLED and sensor applications. Our emphasis is also on sustainable carbon-based materials for energy storage, catalysis, and environmental applications. Our research drives towards CO2 utilization and biomass valorization via advanced catalysis, using metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) enabling transformation of CO2 and biomass to fuels and valuable added chemicals.
