Dr. E. Manikandan

About
Research Area

“I am Dr. E. Manikandan, a PhD in Physics with 14 years of teaching and 25 years of research experience. My doctoral research was conducted entirely at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) in Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu, India, a premier global research laboratory.

Through collaborations with academic research experts from Europe, the USA, and South Africa, I have gained extensive experience in Nanostructured Materials for Energy, Environmental, and Biomedical Applications.

My work has resulted in a strong portfolio of international journal publications, garnering over eleven thousand citations (Scopus & Google Scholar) and an h-index of approximately 60. I possess robust knowledge of advanced analytical fingerprinting techniques for all states of matter (solid, liquid, and gaseous), including nanomaterials.

Key Areas of Expertise and Techniques:

Nanostructured Materials:
Thin Films for Field Emission Applications.
Oxide, Carbide, Nitride & Sulfide Semiconductors for Biomedical & Photocatalytic Applications.
Advanced Analytical & Spectroscopic Techniques:
Fingerprint Spectroscopic Techniques: Raman, IR.
Ion Beam Analysis (IBA): PIXE (Proton Induced X-ray Emission), PIGE (Proton Induced Gamma-ray Emission), RBS (Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry).
INAA (Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis) with KAMINI Reactor access.
Electron Microscopy: FESEM (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy), HRTEM (High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy) for Non-Destructive Materials Analysis.
Bio-nanocomposites & Radiation Measurements.”
