Dr. Gobardhan Sahoo is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, School of Life Sciences, Pondicherry University, India since January 2022. In 2018, he obtained Ph.D. in Science from CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO) under the aegis of the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India. He received the best Ph.D. thesis award (Geeta Mukhopadhaya award) at CSIR-NIO in 2020 for his notable contributions in the elucidation of biochemical signalling mechanisms in the larvae of the fouling organism Balanus amphitrite. Besides, as a postdoctoral research work, he has worked in three foreign countries: Israel, the Czech Republic and Sweden with MSCA fellowship and PBC fellowship. His area of specialisation is Aquatic chemical ecology, marine biofouling and meiofaunal ecology.
