Professor and Head, Department of Statistics

Ramanujan School of Mathematical Sciences, Pondicherry University, Puducherry, India

I am currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Statistics at the Ramanujan School of Mathematical Sciences, Pondicherry University. It is both an honor and a significant responsibility to lead the Department in its academic and research pursuits, while also balancing administrative duties to help elevate its global standing.

I hold a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Statistics from Banaras Hindu University. With over two decades of dedicated experience in teaching and research, I have contributed extensively to undergraduate and postgraduate education for various courses such as Theory of Estimation, Advanced Survey Sampling, Probability Theory, Reliability Theory and Survival Analysis, and Statistical Quality Control.

My research interests lie in Modeling and Inference in Life Testing and Reliability Prediction, particularly through Accelerated Life Testing, Stress-Strength Reliability, and Augmented Strength Reliability, Copula Stress-strength methods. In addition to this, Parametric Survival Modeling and Competing Risks Analysis are also interest of my research. I employ both frequentist and Bayesian approaches for parametric inferences.

I am passionate about addressing innovative and emerging research problems through collaborative work with scholars across the globe. My focus is on time-to-event data analysis with applications in both industrial/manufacturing systems and medical/clinical trials, including scenarios involving censored and uncensored data.

Contributed as Senior Research Fellow in DST Major Project, Principal Investigator for UGC sponsored Major Research Project, Supervised number of PG and Ph.D. (Statistics) students, delivered talks in academic events, Annual and Life Members of Professional bodies, Member of Editorial Boards, Reviewer of Scientific Journals, Published Papers in Scopus / SCI / web of Science indexed journals, conducted several academic events, Member of several academic bodies.

I remain committed to advancing the frontiers of statistical science and fostering a dynamic academic environment that encourages scholarly excellence and impactful research.”
