Dr. R Lusome, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Pondicherry University, is a demographer specializing in Migration and Health Economics, with a Ph.D. from International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai. He completed his Master’s degree in Economics from University of Madras. With over 14 years of teaching and research experience, he has several publications to his credentials and is a member of various professional bodies. He has participated and presented papers in many conferences and seminars and delivered several invited lectures. He has assisted in organizing many academic and cultural events. His research interest includes migration, socioeconomic inequalities, health, ageing, development, labour markets and urban studies. He received the UGC-JRF Fellowship in Population Studies and UGC-NET in Economics.
