Dr.Padmapriya  completed her M.A, M.Phil from Hyderabad  Central University and PhD from Sri Venkateswara University,Tirupati.She was awarded gold medals in M.A and M.Phil from Hyderabad Central University.She has a diploma in Translation and has completed a certificate course in Arabic Language.
Published many literary  articles and  translated highly scientific  articles while working as translator in National geophysical research Institute in Hyderabad before joining Pondicherry University in 2002.She has presented more than seventy five papers in various national and international seminars in Hindi as well various interdisciplinary seminars .
She has participated in two world Hindi conferences held Johannesburg ,South Africa Bhopal in India.She was selected She was an associate In Indian Institute of Advanced Studies.
Have been selected as the next ICCR Chair at University of West Indies, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. You are expected to join Trinidad & Tobago in August, 2014.

She is a Kuchipudi dance exponent and she  has conceptualized, scripted and performed dance dramas like “Gangagaatha”,”Dashavataar”,Neelambari. she is a founder member of the
DAYCARE CENTRE-She initiated as the founder member to establish the daycare centre and co-ordinated for six years.The Daycare Centre in the University is one of its kind in the country and facilitates the students and employees of the university.

His Excellency Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Dr. Iqbal Singh honoured Dr. S. Padmapirya, Asst. Professor[SS] for her contributions to Hindi Literature and conferred-Sahitya Sevi Samman awarded by Tamil Nadu Hindi Sahitya Akademi, Chennai on 2nd December, 2011.

She has four books on language and literature to her credit. Has contributed to the editorial board for four magazines.
Five Batches of 17 International students succesfully completed the course in Hindi Language Learning Programme under Study India Programme.
Succesfully supervised 23 M.phils and 17 PhDs.
