Santhosh Mathew did B.A.in Political Science with a silver medal from the University of Kannur; did his Masters, M.Phil., Ph.D. in International Relations& Politics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam with Junior Research Fellowship(UGC).Prior to join Pondicherry University in 2009, he was Assistant Professor in the department of Political science Payyanur college,Govt Brennen college Thalassery, Govt EKNM College Kasaragod,School of Distance Education, Kannur University.He is the author of the book’WTO,Agricultural subsidies and the media’(2012),The ICT& Social change(2015), Indian and Pakistani policies towards Afghanistan post 9/11(2018),udal mannukku uyir thamizhkuu (Malayalam,2019), Global politics in 21st century(2021,Editor), Geopolitics: Issues in contemporary South Asia(New Delhi: Authors Press, 2023), Defense Industrial Complex: The paradigm shift New Delhi: (AuthorsPress, 2024).He has presented research papers in national and international conferences, delivered invited lectures and has research papers published in reputed journals. He is a commentator in electronic media on contemporary international relations and contributing popular articles in print media. His teaching and research interests include Contemporary international relations, comparative politics, political economy, Mass communication& media studies ,international organizations, south Asia, foreign policy and human rights. He has also an additional Masters in Mass communication and journalism with UGC-JRF. He has also guided numerous M.A, M.Phil. And PhD projects, dissertations and Thesis. He is a member of many academic associations and has served as member of various academic advisory committees including the senate of the Kannur and Mahatma Gandhi Universities. He holds various positions such as PRO ,Warden, NSS program officer of the Pondicherry University. He is a recipient of the Best teacher award from the Pondicherry University in Four consecutive years. He is serving as Editorial board member and reviewer for many reputed journals.
