M.Tech. Environmental Engineering & Management
The MTech programme in Environmental Engineering and Management is designed to train students into becoming multi-faceted environmental engineers equipped to tackle the myriad, complex and rapidly evolving environmental challenges of the 21st century.
The 72 credit programme consists of 8 hardcore courses that arm the student with the fundamentals, giving them a strong foundation in the principles and practices of environmental engineering. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on solving problems, with the teaching and evaluation process specially tailored to enhance the students’ capabilities in this aspect. Additionally, the students are familiarized with the latest legislation and standards governing the practice of environmental engineering. The curriculum incorporates assignments, presentations and extra-curricular activities for the all-round development of the student into confident and articulate engineers. The mandatory 21-day internship at an industry or a consultancy firm gives the students an exposure to on-field challenges. The 24-credit one-year project trains the students in cutting edge research in frontier areas of environmental engineering.
Thus, the graduating student is ready to meet the needs of industry, consultancy firms, and academia. Our alumni have found ready acceptance in public sector organizations such as the pollution control boards, in prestigious private consultancy companies and in public and private sector colleges and universities. Several have gone onto pursue higher education in premier educational institutions.
